เมื่อกล่าวถึงพระกาฬแล้วคนส่วนใหญ่จะคุ้นเคยกับพระกาฬที่เป็นเสมือนเทพแห่งความตาย หรือมนต์คาถาที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการเข่นฆ่าและล้างผลาญ แต่แท้จริงแล้วในเบื้องลึกนั้น พระกาฬจะมีหลายภาคจึงทำให้พระกาฬมีความเกี่ยวข้องกับเวทย์มนต์คาถาและมหาเวทย์โองการศักดิ์สิทธิ์ต่างๆอีกมากมาย ทั้งมนต์ทางเสน่ห์, มนต์ทางถอดถอนคุณไสย หรือมนต์ทางหนุนดวงค้ำจุนชะตาก็มี เพราะในเนื้อหาจะมีการเอ่ยถึงนามของพระกาฬด้วยอยู่เสมอๆ ตัวอย่างที่เห็นได้ชัดเจนก็เช่นมนต์ที่ใช้ในการขจัดปัดเป่าสิ่งชั่วร้ายหรือชำระล้างสิ่งไม่ดี จะมีการเอ่ยถึงพระกาฬในบทคาถาว่า“ข้าพเจ้าขออัญเชิญพระอินทร์ พระพรหม พระยม พระกาฬฯลฯ” หรือมนต์ที่ใช้สวดขอความเป็นสิริมงคลก่อนจะเริ่มเรียนพระเวทย์ก็จะเอ่ยถึงพระกาฬในบทคาถาว่า “ข้าพเจ้าจะเรียนมนต์ ขอพระกาฬท่านสรรเสริญให้กูทำคุณพระมนต์ฯลฯ” ดังนั้นจะเห็นได้ว่าในอีกมุมหนึ่งนั้นพระกาฬเป็นสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ที่มีความสำคัญในทุกๆแขนงสรรพวิชาเลยก็ว่าได้ ด้วยเหตุนี้เองพระอาจารย์โอจึงได้นำมนต์พระกาฬในภาคเสน่ห์มาจัดสร้างเสน่หาหน้าพระกาฬนี้ขึ้นมา โดยเน้นพุทธคุณไปในทางเสน่ห์เมตตามหานิยมเป็นหลัก
พระอาจารย์โอได้ใช้ผงสมุกดำเป็นมวลสารหลักในการจัดสร้างเสน่หาหน้าพระกาฬนี้ ซึ่งผงสมุกดำนั้นทำได้ยากและต้องใช้ระยะเวลาและความเพียรมาก เริ่มตั้งแต่การปลูกว่านที่ต้องปลูกในวันพญาวันเท่านั้น กล่าวคือในหนึ่งปี จะทำการปลูกว่านได้เพียงวันเดียวคือวันที่15เมษายน ซึ่งถือว่าเป็นวันเถลิงศก เปลี่ยนศักราชเริ่มต้นปีใหม่ เป็นหนึ่งวันที่อยู่เหนือทุกๆวัน หนึ่งวันที่สยบทุกๆวัน หนึ่งวันที่เข้มขลังกว่าวันใดๆ
นอกจากนี้ดินที่ใช้ในการปลูกว่านนั้นยังต้องเป็นดินอาถรรพ์ที่มีคุณสมบัติครบตามที่ตำราว่าไว้อีกด้วย ส่วนน้ำที่ใช้ในการรดต้นว่านนั้น จะต้องใช้น้ำมนต์และน้ำส้มป่อยในการรดโดยเฉพาะ และเมื่อต้นว่านเจริญเติบโตครบ6ปีจนต้นว่านจะมีจิตมีตัวมีตนสถิตอยู่ภายในแล้ว จึงทำการพลีและปลุกเพิกเพชรพญาธรให้หลีกหนีออกไปจากต้นว่านก่อนตามจารีตพิธีกรรมในการเก็บว่านของผู้เรียนวิชา เพราะเชื่อกันว่าหากไม่ทำการปลุกเพิกเพชรพญาธรให้ออกจากว่านเสียก่อนแล้ว เพชรพญาธรจะมาขโมยเอาฤทธิ์ว่านไปไว้กับตัว ว่านที่เก็บมานั้นก็จักไม่มีพิษสงเหลืออยู่ให้ใช้ประโยชน์ได้ ดังนั้นการจะนำฤทธิ์ของว่านมาใช้ประโยชน์ได้อย่างเต็มที่นั้น จำเป็นต้องเพิกเพชรพญาธรให้หลีกหนีไปเสียก่อน เมื่อเก็บว่านมาแล้วจึงนำว่านมาลงยันต์ที่บริเวณหัวว่าน,ใบว่าน และลำต้น ก่อนนำไปพลีในเปลวไฟจึงจะสำเร็จออกมาเป็นผงสมุกดำตามตำรา
หลังจากนั้นจึงนำผงสมุกดำที่ได้ไปผสมกับผงลบกระดานจากวิชาพระกาฬผันจักร, พระกาฬหน้าทอง และพระกาฬผลาญหัวใจ มากดพิมพ์ก่อนจะนำไปปลุกเสกด้วยมนต์พระกาฬผลาญหัวใจมนุษย์ นอกจากนี้พระอาจารย์โอได้นำวิชาลงทองหน้าพระกาฬหรือเสน่หาหน้าพระกาฬมาประยุกต์ใช้ในการจัดสร้างและปลุกเสกเสน่หาหน้าพระกาฬชุดนี้ด้วย กล่าวคือแต่เดิมแล้ววิชาลงทองหน้าพระกาฬจะมีการลงทอง4แห่งบริเวณใบหน้า โดยจะลงนามพระกาฬไว้ที่ขมับซ้าย, หัวใจพระกาฬไว้ที่ขมับขวา, รัศมีพระกาฬไว้ที่กรามซ้าย และฉายพระกาฬไว้ที่กรามขวา เป็นอีกหนึ่งในวิชาลงทองขั้นสูงที่มักถูกใช้ควบคู่กับการลงทองหน้าพระ เป็นวิชาที่ครูบาอาจารย์สมัยก่อนจะไม่ค่อยลงให้ลูกศิษย์หากไม่ใช่ลูกศิษย์รักจริงๆ
มีเรื่องเล่าอยู่ว่าในสมัยก่อน มีชายหนุ่มท่านหนึ่งได้เสาะแสวงหาร่ำเรียนสรรพวิชาต่างๆจากครูบาอาจารย์ที่เก่งกล้าสามารถอยู่เป็นนิจ ชายหนุ่มนั้นได้พบเจออาจารย์ท่านหนึ่งซึ่งสามารถลงทองเข้าไปในตัวคนได้ด้วยการตบเพียงครั้งเดียว ชายหนุ่มจึงขอให้อาจารย์ท่านนั้นได้ลงทองให้บ้าง หลังจากลงทองไปจึงได้ลองไปจีบสาวดู แต่ปรากฏว่ากลับโดนสาวดุด่าว่ากล่าวกลับมา ชายหนุ่มจึงคิดว่าทองที่ลงไปนั้นอาจจะมีปริมาณน้อยเกินไป คราวนี้จึงได้เตรียมแผ่นทองคำเปลวไปเป็นร้อยแผ่น เพื่อให้อาจารย์ลงทองให้อีกครั้งหนึ่ง อาจารย์ก็ได้ลงทองทั้งร้อยแผ่นให้ด้วยการตบเพียงครั้งเดียวอีกครั้ง ชายหนุ่มจึงได้ลองกลับไปจีบสาวดูอีกที แต่ปรากฏว่าคราวนี้ สาวได้ปล่อยสุนัขมากัด ชายหนุ่มจึงเดินทางไปพบอาจารย์อีกครั้งหนึ่ง แล้วตัดพ้อว่า “ลงทองไปตั้งมากมาย ไม่เห็นจะเป็นเสน่ห์เลย” อาจารย์ท่านนั้นจึงได้ตอบกลับมาสั้นๆว่า “จะให้ลงทองเป็นเสน่ห์ก็ไม่บอก” ว่าแล้วอาจารย์จึงได้ลงทองตามใบหน้าให้ชายหนุ่มเป็นจำนวน4จุดด้วยกัน พอเสร็จเรียบร้อยชายหนุ่มก็ไปจีบสาวคนเดิมอีกที คราวนี้สาวกลับไม่ดุด่า ไม่ปล่อยสุนัขมากัด แต่กลับชวนกินข้าว และถึงขั้นชวนให้นอนค้างที่บ้านด้วยกันอย่างน่าอัศจรรย์ นี่คือความเข้มขลังศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของวิชาลงทองหน้าพระกาฬนั่นเอง
